An amendment to Columbus Medical Services LLC contract(4400022760) is currently in the process for approval. This amendment will allow for PA Family Network, under the management of Visions for Equality, to subcontract with Columbus. Until this amendment is in effect, an extension is necessary for required training to continue.

Justification for Extension:
|
In the aftermath of COVID-19 pandemic, significant changes occurred to the Office of Developmental Program's (ODP) service system. These changes impacted the services and supports provided to individuals with a developmental disability in order to protect their health, safety, and welfare. PA Family Network has played a fundamental role with their provision of up to date training and information on critical pandemic related changes to these individuals and their families to ensure continuity and quality of care is provided.

Result, if not Approved:
|
Without these trainings, individuals served by the Office of Developmental Programs and their families will not have the needed knowledge or ability to make informed choices on their services and supports. This risks individuals not receiving the appropriate services and supports to address their health and safety needs. It is crucial to continue trainings, particularly during the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Significant changes to the Office of Developmental Programs Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waiver program have been implemented to protect the health, safety, and welfare of individuals with a developmental disability during the pandemic.
